We recently asked a few of our nurses that joined us from overseas what they thought of their experience so far. Here’s what they had to say…
I came into the UK March after I had gotten a offer with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS trust to work in one of their hospitals in the North Lincolnshire County(Scunthorpe General Hospital).
At that time, I was filled with feelings of excitement, worries, and expectations, having to leave my family and friends behind to start a New life in an entire different culture. But all my worries and shock were eradicated by the lovely set of people that occupy the space of international recruitment team of this unique NHS trust with high standards and quality of service, who melt almost all my heartfelt expectations as an individual.
The OSCE preparatory team are an excellent set of individuals equipped with rooted knowledge and understanding of human dynamics and diversity and were able to bring out the best in every of my cohort members, recording an all round success.
My ward manager and fellow team members are an excellent set of people providing a supportive environment for growth and development.

Since I got here, the support has been massive. Got good housing, adequate training for osce and the support on the ward has been amazing. I love team work and everyone on acute assessment unit B has been incredibly supportive. So far, it’s been rewarding and fulfilling, I won’t have it any other way. If you are looking to learn and grow, think NLAG!!!
