Join us as a Nurse or Midwife and discover why working and living in Lincolnshire really is a Hidden Gem!

If you are an experienced Nurse or Midwife who would love to deliver the highest quality patient care possible set within an exceptional environment, then look no further!

Nurses and Midwifes who join us soon realise that working with us really is an extension to your family. Whichever specialty area you join – be that Surgery, Medicine, Community, Midwifery or Outpatients, you can be sure of one thing, that you will be joining a professional team where our Trust values of Kindness, Courage and Respect are at the very core of what we do.

As a Trust we continue to develop new ways of working; and having successfully secured over £100 million to invest in new purpose-built areas, we have transformed and improved a vast number of our key areas, including two brand new state of the art Emergency Departments at both our Grimsby and Scunthorpe sites which includes a full refurbishment of our Acute Assessment Unit facilities and creation and provision of Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). We have undertaken full refurbishment to several specialty wards and our Operating Theatres and have also modernised our Information Systems to improve patient care, including a full Electronic Patient Record. In addition to this, we also have on site state of the art diagnostics which are available 24/7, with new MRI and CT facilities recently opened.

If you are a midwife, all three of our sites provide midwifery services. In addition to our popular LDRP system of care at our Grimsby site, we also house a dedicated theatre, a family room, a high dependency room, a room for disabled mums-to-be and a water birth room. Our Scunthorpe site offers an antenatal clinic and assessment unit, a mixed ante and post-natal ward including a transitional care area, a central delivery suite which incorporates a dedicated obstetric theatre and birthing pool, and a neonatal intensive care unit. For patients who are classed as ‘high-risk’ are transferred from Goole to Scunthorpe for delivery.

What can we offer?

We believe that our patients receive the best care when our staff feel valued and supported, and in order for our nurses and midwifes to stay motivated and maintain high standards of quality care, it is important that we continuously support their learning and development.

If you have an appetite for career progression, our clearly defined innovative pathways and progression portfolios provide a framework for you to do just that! These pathways are set against the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) National Curriculum and Competency Frameworks and offer fantastic education and career development opportunities for both nurses and midwifes.

No matter how experienced you are, there will be a period of induction and mentoring when you join us and full support for career progression will be provided to those who express an interest.

In addition, we also provide:

  • General relocation allowance up to £4000
  • Bespoke relocation and onboarding support for you and your family, to include help with finding accommodation, registering with schools, and providing information about the area
  • Newly built onsite employee accommodation, featuring self-contained facilities at Grimsby
  • Excellent Company Pension
  • Generous Annual Leave Entitlement
  • Fabulous NHS Staff benefits
  • Supportive managerial teams who are keen to develop their staff and clinical ideas

The Area

Northern Lincolnshire CountrysideThe North Lincolnshire district is a mixed industrial and rural community. In addition to the main centres of Grimsby and Scunthorpe the area has many picturesque market towns and villages, including Brigg and Barton which are small market towns concerned with light industries and agriculture. The remaining population is in a mainly farming rural area which extends into the attractive Ancholme Valley and the gently sloping hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which have been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, with extensive beaches along the coastal strip. These make North Lincolnshire the ideal destination for walkers and cyclists.

Educational facilities in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole, and the surrounding area of Lincolnshire, are of a high standard. The house prices in the area are amongst the lowest in the UK. There is a wealth of cultural and sporting activities in the district suitable for most needs. This includes a marina at South Ferriby for sailing in the Humber Estuary, and a number of well-regarded golf clubs.
