The Role

What can we offer?

We believe that our patients receive the best care when our staff feel valued and supported, and in order for our emergency nurses to stay motivated and maintain high standards of quality care in a constantly changing environment, it is important that we continuously support their learning and development.

We are excited and proud of our new and innovative career pathways which are set against the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) and National Major Trauma Nursing Group (NMTNG) National Curriculum and Competency Frameworks. These clearly defined pathways offer fantastic education and career development opportunities for those with an appetite for career progression and self-improvement.

ED Nurse Career Pathway

In addition to this, our enthusiastic clinical teams have worked closely with our Design Architects to ensure that our new Emergency Departments provide the very best facilities not only for our patients but for our staff too, some of which include:

  • Staff shower and changing facilities
  • Training seminar room

The Area

The North Lincolnshire district is a mixed industrial and rural community. In addition to the main centres of Scunthorpe the area has many picturesque market towns and villages, including Brigg and Barton which are small market towns concerned with light industries and agriculture. The remaining population is in a mainly farming rural area which extends into the attractive Ancholme Valley and the gently sloping hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which have been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, with extensive beaches along the coastal strip. These make North Lincolnshire the ideal destination for walkers and cyclists.

Educational facilities in Scunthorpe, and the surrounding area of Lincolnshire, are of a high standard. The house prices in the area are amongst the lowest in the UK. There is a wealth of cultural and sporting activities in the district suitable for most needs. This includes a marina at South Ferriby for sailing in the Humber Estuary, and a number of well-regarded golf clubs.
