Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust is on an improvement journey, with a strong focus on delivering high quality care to our population of 440,000 people.  We provide a comprehensive range of secondary care services across Northern Lincolnshire from three main centres in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole, as well as multiple community sites.

We aim to combine our patient first approach with innovation and creativity against a backdrop of holistic team working, as encapsulated in our vision and values – kindness, courage, and respect. Our Trust vision of “Committed to caring for you” applies to both our patients and our employees as we aim to create a patient centred health care environment that inspires positive outcomes.

To drive and enable the delivery of our ambitious strategic objectives, the Trust is seeking to appoint a Director of Strategic Development. This will be a non-voting board level appointment.

In addition to your corporate responsibilities, the Director of Strategic Development will act as the Trust Lead on the Humber Acute Services Review alongside the CEO and Medical Director and will work closely with other organisations in the region.  This will be a pivotal role in the development of the review, requiring a transformative leadership style and an engaging approach. Should the review be approved, the Director of Strategic Development will take the lead with Executive colleagues on its implementation.

Through this work you will be in the position to positively influence the future direction of healthcare services in the region for the benefit of our patients. These schemes of work will include working closely with national NHS bodies to ensure alignment to the NHS 10 year plan.

As a transformational leader, you will drive the strategic development of the Trust’s current and future services and will be responsible for the development, revision, and implementation of these strategies and frameworks.

For an informal conversation please contact Dr Peter Reading, Chief Executive Officer via Heidi Forster, Corporate Services Manager, 03033 303918 – heidi.forster@nhs.net

The Area

Junior Doctor - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole HNS Foundation TrustThe North Lincolnshire district is a mixed industrial and rural community. In addition to the main centres of Grimsby and Scunthorpe the area has many picturesque market towns and villages, including Brigg and Barton which are small market towns concerned with light industries and agriculture. The remaining population is in a mainly farming rural area which extends into the attractive Ancholme Valley and the gently sloping hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which have been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, with extensive beaches along the coastal strip. These make North Lincolnshire the ideal destination for walkers and cyclists.

Educational facilities in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole, and the surrounding area of Lincolnshire, are of a high standard. The house prices in the area are amongst the lowest in the UK. There is a wealth of cultural and sporting activities in the district suitable for most needs. This includes a marina at South Ferriby for sailing in the Humber Estuary, and a number of well-regarded golf clubs.
