CONSULTANT EMERGENCY MEDICINE
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic team player to join Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine.
Quality of patient care is our top priority. Despite the financial pressures on the NHS nationally, we have continued to invest in all three hospitals, including MRI scanning at Goole, a new haematology, oncology and rheumatology unit at Grimsby and the Blue Sky Imaging suite at Scunthorpe. Our Emergency Care Centres are at the forefront of developing new ways of working. With the benefit of a very supportive managerial team who are keen to develop clinical ideas, there exists a very good working relationship between our two sites and we are constantly generating and developing ideas to bring our departments into the forefront of Emergency Care in the country.
The successful appointees will join 6 Consultant colleagues in the department across the Trust providing services at either Grimsby or Scunthorpe.
The Northern Lincolnshire area provides an excellent standard of living, boasting blue flag beaches, beautiful countryside and towns and villages that are not only steeped in history but offer affordable living, outstanding schools and excellent transport links, including the local Humberside airport.

The Area
The North Lincolnshire district is a mixed industrial and rural community. In addition to the main centres of Grimsby and Scunthorpe the area has many picturesque market towns and villages, including Brigg and Barton which are small market towns concerned with light industries and agriculture. The remaining population is in a mainly farming rural area which extends into the attractive Ancholme Valley and the gently sloping hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds, which have been designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, with extensive beaches along the coastal strip. These make North Lincolnshire the ideal destination for walkers and cyclists.
Educational facilities in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole, and the surrounding area of Lincolnshire, are of a high standard. The house prices in the area are amongst the lowest in the UK. There is a wealth of cultural and sporting activities in the district suitable for most needs. This includes a marina at South Ferriby for sailing in the Humber Estuary, and a number of well-regarded golf clubs.
