The pharmacy team is like a family , always helping each other out in difficult times.  There are also various opportunities for professional development that will enable career progression.
The hospital of opportunity – yes you heard that right!! This is the first time I have felt that I am working as part of a real multi-disciplinary team; I feel like I am always listened to. Investing in my career progression with a mutually beneficial career plan. This is a great place to improve your clinical skills and progress your career with all the opportunities available to you from ward base rotation to a paid Diploma or Non-Medical Prescriber course. There is something here for everyone!
I have worked within the Pharmacy Department for over 6 years now. The Pharmacy Team have always been approachable and supportive. Their dedication has never wavered, even throughout the very challenging times we have all faced throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, they are a great team to work with.
I thoroughly enjoy my work as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist for Surgery. Every day I get the opportunity to expand my knowledge and face challenging situations, making a direct positive impact to patient care. I first worked in the department as a summer vacation placement whilst I was still at university, and then chose Scunthorpe General Hospital as my pre-registration placement. Since qualifying I have worked here as a band 6 rotational pharmacist, then progressing to my current role. The department are very supportive of learning opportunities and I have completed my clinical diploma and prescribing courses whilst working here. The whole team are brilliant to work with and feel like family! There is always someone here to support you or give advice.
