Clinical Attachments

Clinical attachments are time limited honorary observer roles that are a great way for qualified doctors to gain experience of the NHS environment.  This is particularly useful to overseas doctors who have trained and worked overseas previously in a system different to the NHS.

These roles are strictly observer roles with no direct hands on patient contact, decision making, or prescribing, but provide an overall grounding in processes and ways of working with supervision at all times.

A clinical attachment placement with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS FT will generally be for a period of 4 weeks, and can provide you with familiarity with NHS clinical practice and build you confidence for when you’re ready to start your career in the NHS.  Other benefits of an attachment with us include an opportunity to learn about working in a multidisciplinary team, improve your communication skills, and widen your options for employment in the NHS.
